Piyo Buns

Making it happen, one grilled cheese sandwich at a time!

Today’s workout brought with it some surprises.  C wanted to make sure I was well fueled for my sweat session.  During my rep work he brought me a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.  Do not forget the side of BACON he added to the meal.

Not only that, he thought I earned myself some dessert, too.  Chocolate cake (that kid knows the way to his momma’s heart)!!!  And not one piece of cake.  NOPE.  I got to eat the WHOLE thing!!!

I completed my Piyo Buns workout before my rep work.  It is one I tend to stay away from as it focuses entirely on the legs.  I usually enjoy Piyo for the arms and core work on my non-running days, giving my legs a break.  With only a four mile run planned for tomorrow, I thought it may be a good day to throw the extra leg work into the rotation.  I must say, that pigeon stretch is divine!  Isn’t it?

I pushed through some harder variations on my rep work.  Feel the burn!  I want to get in some strong workouts over these next couple days before a week of “get in whatever you can” happens.

Today’s Workout:

  • Piyo Buns
  • 40: tricep dips, push ups, squats, lunges, donkey kicks, bridges, fire hydrants, Russian twists, ankle taps, jack hammers, scissor kicks, reverse crunches, dead bugs, bicycle crunches, knee to elbow planks, supermans, and leg raises
  • 20: leg and hip extensions, single leg deadlifts, and burpees (went all in with those burpees today)
  • 5:00 planks
  • arm weights, 30 reps each exercise

I am leaning towards getting out my medicine ball tomorrow for an extra challenge.  Someone hold me to it!

365 Days… When the pandemic hit, I found myself a bit out-of-control. Like many of you, routines were flipped upside down in an instant. Suddenly, I was a 24/7 parent, teacher, coach, and actual physical presence for two growing boys. The gym closed down; my job went with it. I am thankful that I did…

Disney Dopey Challenge 2020 One year ago today, I completed my third marathon, which happened to also be my first Disney Dopey Challenge! (Little did I know that my 2020 racing days were numbered). I am very thankful to be able to say that I “raced” each of my distances last year. Those four distances…
