Kindness Jar

This morning, I introduced the boys to our new kindness jar. I try to praise them when I see them doing nice things for others. This will make it more visual for them. Each time we see them being nice to each other, someone else, us, etc. they will get to add a piece of candy to the jar.

They are totally excited about filling up the jar with the candy!!!

As a reward, they were able to choose something for us to do together as a family. I threw out several suggestions:

  • Take our bikes to the park and ride around the bike path
  • Have a family picnic in the living room
  • Go out for ice cream

As much as I was hoping for something like the first two, of course, they went with the ice cream.

I picked this jar up in the Valentine’s Day section at Kroger last weekend for five dollars. Pink lid and chalkboard heart ready to go!  I am hoping it is an investment that will pay off long after the right now.

If you already have a jar sitting around your house, add on a chalkboard sticker.

You will be ready to go, too!

Disney Dopey Challenge 2020 One year ago today, I completed my third marathon, which happened to also be my first Disney Dopey Challenge! (Little did I know that my 2020 racing days were numbered). I am very thankful to be able to say that I “raced” each of my distances last year. Those four distances…
