Squat Workout-Farm Style

30 minute squat workout, farm style!

Today’s workout was provided by…STICKS!

This afternoon, the boys and I joined my parents out at the farm and picked up all of the sticks that had fallen over the winter months.  In translation, us adults picked up the sticks and the boys drove the Gator around collecting our sticks and taking those to the backhoe.  (They did pick up a few).

I sure was feeling it in my legs.  My legs are pretty sore today after yesterday’s race (still working on that blog post).  It was good to get outside for some fresh air and moving some, though.  I am sure my legs needed that more than sitting on the couch, which is what I want to do.

This morning, I also did the April push-up challenge before I got in the shower.  It takes one minute. You can do push ups for one minute of your day!!!  I encourage you to drop down and do 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 quick each morning before you start your day.

Of course, after the sticks were picked up, we had to toss a few over the bridge into the creak to see those float away.  I love that the boys enjoy doing the simple things that entertained me as a child.

The clean up was finished by N helping Grandpa drive the backhoe back to the burn pile with all of our sticks.  He was very proud of himself for doing the steering!

Yesterday’s Workout:

  • 13.1 miles run
  • 15 push ups

Today’s Workout (Otherwise, it is a rest day):

  • 30 minutes of squats to pick up sticks
  • 40 push ups

What did you do today to get moving?

Suddenly, I was a 24/7 parent, teacher, coach, and actual physical presence for two growing boys. The gym closed down; my job went with it. I am thankful that I did…

Disney Dopey Challenge 2020 One year ago today, I completed my third marathon, which happened to also be my first Disney Dopey Challenge! (Little did I know that my 2020 racing days were numbered). I am very thankful to be able to say that I “raced” each of my distances last year. Those four distances…
